Membership on Playboy Plus will cost you $ 19.80 for 30 days and, for the bold and brave, $ 98.20 for one year. If you’re looking to test the waters before taking on a full membership, they have a limited trial membership at $ 3.95 for 5 days. You can pay to play if you’ve got a credit card, an online checking account, a phone or through snail mail.
The website doesn’t say it in black and white, but if you’re on the limited trial membership, and you’re not planning to subscribe as a full member, don’t forget to cancel your trial before the five days run out. Trial memberships recur at a rate much higher than the standard monthly rate ($29.46 for 30 days); even then monthly membership doesn’t guarantee you a pass to all the annual full membership features.
Believe me when we tell you that the price tag attached to Playboy Plus doesn’t disappoint. Full members will have access to over 12,000 pics that vary in size and quality (which is, in true Playboy style, anything but fuzzy!), and over 275+ videos that come in QuickTime (MOV, 240 x 180, 150 kbps) and Real Player (RM, 320 x 240, unknown bit rate) formats. Sorry, there are no downloadable zip sets, nor downloadable videos. Everything you see on the site stays on the site, and can only be accessed for as long as you’re a member.
Your membership on Playboy Plus of course buys you into Playboy magazine issues, weekly chats with the models, access to the message boards and a lot more. Featured models on the opening page have video previews/trailers for you to enjoy and salivate over while deciding whether to plunk in the dough for membership or not. One thing’s for sure, though, you’ll have some very busy hands.
The site is updated more than once a week, so you know that there is a lot happening. If I had anything not-so-nice to say about this site, though, it would be that some of the concepts are a little overdrawn… and sometimes tired. One could expect a little more variety in the same theme without crossing the threshold between soft code and glamour to hardcore.
Overall, Playboy Plus is a truly great site in terms of its collection, if only to live up to its creators name and reputation. Membership is pricey, true, but their material is well worth it.
Perhaps even more so if its members are allowed to keep some of what they have paid for. Still, I’d be willing to overlook that, considering the number of hot women that are added to Playboy Plus each week!
